More than thirty-seven people accepted Christ, dozens came forward to confess sins and commit their lives to Christ and I was sitting on the front pew totally exhausted.

The service started at 6:00 and here it was past 11:00 at night.

A man who smelled of alcohol, sat down beside me and said he wanted to talk.

He began by saying he had been in our Upper Room in San Jose several times.   I stopped him and said, did you accept the Lord in the Upper Room and he replied, “No.’   Then I asked if he had accepted the Lord that night and he again replied, “No.”

I said, “I am not going to waste my time talking to you, you have heard clearly what you need to do to be saved and you have refused to do what is necessary.”

Then I said, “Get on your knees right now and accept the Lord or don’t bother me.”   He dropped to his knees and called on the lord to save him.

He and I were the last ones to leave the church that night.   As we came out I told the crowd, this man has just accepted Christ.

One of the deacons said, “Brother as you were preaching, did you see us standing behind him on the back row&?rdquo;   I replied no.   He went on to say, he is a machetero (one who uses his machete to kill people for money).   We felt he was here to do no good”.

The man beside me said, “That is all true but tonight I became a real Christian.”

We all rejoiced together, in the fact that another sinner had been saved by grace.

For several years I kept track of his faithful walk with our Lord and I expect to see him in glory.
